7/30/08     As with all endeavors things happen to slow, change, alter the course.   No matter how hard and diligently I work some things just don't behave.

Since the spring we discovered that Sandi, my wife, has breast cancer.   She was diagnosed early enough that we believe the surgery and following chemotherapy will cure her and make her a survivor.  Of course nothing is guaranteed.

We are fortunate enough to live here in Houston which has some of the best medical care in the world.  Namely MD Anderson Cancer Center.   It has been an eye opening education.

Sandi has quite a collection of wigs, caps, scarves, and doo rags.    Her hair is so thin now from the chemo that it is just a little while till its gone.    She is about half way through the treatment.

It makes you consider what is really important in this life and we are fortunate in having a great circle of buddies, friends, and family around us.   We are normally very social folk and we intend on keeping that up.

Business for me and her is still good.   I'm constantly looking for new merchandise.    She works for a great company in the oilfield supply business.   If anything is booming the oilfield should be it.

We are trying to continue with our daily affairs with as little disruption as possible,  visits to the hospital twice a week not withstanding.

Got the great news that my daughter is engaged to my great future son-in-law and my son just advanced to Second Class Bosuns Mate in the Coast Guard.

Life is still very good as we navigate these sharp curves into the future.
